As pupils and staff return for a new academic year, they are stepping into improved learning environments thanks to a significant programme of summer works delivered across our schools.

The summer programme demonstrates the value of a Trust-wide Estates Strategy, allowing us to plan long-term, prioritise investment and deliver improvements efficiently across all our schools. The programme also supports Aim 5 of our Strategic Plan: Building Welcoming and Inspiring Learning Environments, which commits us to providing inclusive, stimulating spaces that support learning and growth whilst ensuring all schools maintain safe, compliant and welcoming environments.

Across the Trust, substantial investment has been made, with some projects supported through successful grant applications but the majority funded directly by the Trust. This strategic approach enables us to invest where it is needed most, ensuring all schools benefit from being part of a Multi Academy Trust.

This summer's projects included major building improvements such as roof replacements, refurbished toilet facilities, new inclusion and intervention spaces, upgraded security measures including gates, fencing and security doors, playground resurfacing, outdoor learning environments and improved site infrastructure. Investment has also enhanced specialist teaching and activity spaces, improved accessibility and created additional accommodation to support both pupils and wider community use.

Much of this work supports the less visible but equally important aspects of estates management, ensuring sites remain safe, compliant and well maintained whilst meeting increasing Department for Education expectations.

"These improvements are the result of careful planning, strategic investment and excellent teamwork. My thanks go to all of the individuals involved for their hard work in co-ordinating and delivering all of these projects." - Sue Wardlow, CEO, Greensand Multi Academy Trust.

As children and staff walked through the school doors this September, they may not have seen every improvement that has been made. However, they will benefit from them every day as these investments help create the conditions for pupils, staff and communities to Step into their Greatness.
