Celebrating Talent, Creativity and Community at Our Trust-Wide Dance Event

Just before the Easter break, we had the absolute pleasure of bringing together children from nine schools in our Multi Academy Trust for a truly uplifting dance showcase at The Hawth in Crawley, a professional venue that gave the event a real sense of occasion and pride.

Throughout the evening, the performances were of very high quality. The performances reflected many hours of rehearsal, careful choreography and, most of all, enthusiasm.

Sue Wardlow, Greensand’s CEO, said

“The whole evening was joyous. It was particularly moving to see such a wonderful balance between the polished skills and accomplishments of our GCSE Dance students and the infectious energy and enthusiasm of our younger pupils.”

The audience was treated to a wide variety of dance styles and creative pieces, each telling its own story and showcasing the unique talents of our young people. The event also served as an important milestone for our GCSE students, enabling them to fulfil the live performance element of their course in a professional theatre setting, which is an experience they’ll carry with them long after the exam results are in.

The feedback from pupils has been overwhelmingly positive, with all agreeing that the hard work was worth it - a sentiment echoed by staff and families alike. Beyond the performances themselves, what stood out most was the genuine sense of community at the event. It was inspiring to see children of all ages come together in a truly Trust-wide event to be part of something bigger than their individual schools.

A huge thank you must go to the dedicated teachers and support staff who worked tirelessly to prepare pupils for this event. Their commitment, encouragement and belief in the children shone through every moment on stage. The joy was evident, not only in the faces of the performers but in the genuine delight of the audience, who responded so warmly to every dance.

We’re already planning next year’s event and are excited to build on the creativity, collaboration and joy that enabled every child to step into their greatness.
