This week we take a second look at the Science of Learning strand of the Greensand PACE model.

This week’s blog, by former science teacher, head teacher and now author and speaker, Tom Sherrington, discusses how we as teachers need to check for understanding throughout our lessons, and gives us various ways in which we can do this. Responding to errors and misconceptions is vital so that our students’ schemas (mental models) of our subject can be correctly constructed in order for new knowledge to be fully embedded.
